Ayer fue el último día para presentar los vídeo de la Orquesta de Youtube. Estuvimos hasta tarde grabando. Fue bastante agotador y desesperante, y hoy estoy como si tuviera resaca (nunca he tenido una, pero me imagino que será parecido).

Yesterday was the last day to upload the application videos for Youtube's Orchestra. We (Lis and i) were recording till very late in the afternoon. It was pretty tiring and unnerving, and I feel today as if I had a hangover (which I've never had, but I figure it must be something like this).

Brevemente explico cómo iba: Grabas unos vídeos de unas determinadas obras. Los subes a youtube, y los mandas a un apartado especial. Luego un jurado y el público vota los mejores vídeos. Finalmente, la gente elegida pasa a formar parte de una orquesta que participará en un concierto en el Carnegie Hall de nueva York.

Brief abridgment of what's it all about: You record some videos of predetermined pieces. You upload them to youtube and send them to a special category. After that, the jury and the public vote the best videos. Finally, the chosen people plays as an orchestra in the Carnegie Hall in New York.

La desorganización de youtube es bastante grande.
Youtube's deorganization is pretty big.
¿Se les ha ido de las manos? ¿Era todo a posta para que no participase demasiada gente o para ver quién se desenvolvía mejor? Bueno, mis vídeos, ya están subidos (sólo dos de ellos, a mi gran pesar, porque me había preparado tres obras). Quizá he perdido la fe por tal desorganización e impedimentos, pero creo que en el fondo me queda esperanza de esa que traía ayer metida en un bolsillo. Sólo queda esperar.

Did it get out of hand? Was it all on purpose so as to limit the participation or discard those who weren't able to overcome these challenges?
Anyway, my videos are already uploaded (just two of them, I'm afraid, for I had three pieces total prepared). Maybe I've lost faith because of the disorganization and obstacles, but I think I still hold a little glimmer of hope in my pocket. Now we just have to wait.

La desorganización de youtube es bastante grande.
- Primero se acordó dejar de plazo hasta el día 30 de Enero. Luego se cambió al día 28.-
- Para tocar la obra obligatoria (tu parte instrumental de la sinfonía de Tan Dun), había que seguir un vídeo en el que te dirigía el director, sin música. Ese vídeo estaba incompleto, tenía cortes y faltaban compases.
- Había otro vídeo en el que aparecía el director dirigiendo y con la música de la sinfonía de fondo. Pues la música iba muy descuadrada de los movimientos del director (habían pegado la música encima).
- Ponía en las bases que podías mandar un vídeo de una obra obligatoria (Tan Dun) y uno o dos vídeos de obras opcionales (había un listado para escoger). Es decir, que se podían subir tres vídeos en total. Al intentar mandar el tercer vídeo, no te dejaba, y te ponía que "Has superado el límite de vídeos por usuario en este concurso".

- First it was agreed to give as a time limit for uploading January the 30th. Then it was changed to the 28th-
- To play the compulsory piece (your instrumental part in Tan Dun's symphony), you had to follow a recorded video of the conductor conducting you, without music of any kind. That video was missing parts and had some cuts in it.
-There was another video with the conductor conducting and with the symphony's music in the background. Well, the music was completely out of sync with the conductor's movements (it was obvious the music had been pasted over the video)
- It was explained in the contest basis that you could upload a video of one of the compulsory pieces (Tan Dun) and one or two videos of another optional pieces (there was a list from where to choose). I.e. you could upload three videos total. When trying to send the third one the operation was denied and a message saying "you've exceeded the number of videos per user in this contest"
